Professional whitening uses a controlled peroxide gel to lift stain from within the enamel. It is done either in a single supervised clinic session, with custom take-home trays, or as a combination of both.
The difference between this and a supermarket kit is control. We check first that the discolouration will actually respond to bleaching, protect your gums during the process, and use a concentration matched to your sensitivity.
Whitening does not lighten crowns, veneers or composite fillings. If you have visible restorations on your front teeth, they will stay their original shade — which is exactly why the sequence of a smile plan matters.

Cleaning first
Scaling and polishing is done before whitening. A surprising amount of apparent discolouration is surface deposit, and removing it sometimes makes bleaching unnecessary.

Gum protection
A barrier is applied to isolate the gums before any gel touches the teeth.

Whitening
Either an in-clinic session or custom trays with gel to use at home, depending on your sensitivity and schedule.

Review and maintenance
We check the result, and advise on which habits will shorten it. Occasional top-ups with your trays keep the shade stable.
